News About Trillium Natural Burial

The Board of Trillium Natural Burial (TNB) is passionate about conservation burial being available in our South Salish Sea region.  Currently, however, the TNB Board cannot put forward the energy and effort needed to realize this vision.

While we are heartened by the strong interest from our community for natural burial that also restores and conserves natural habitat, TNB is shutting down. There will likely be a multi-year hiatus before TNB begins anew, stay tuned!

A friend of our organization recently remarked that Trillium Natural Burial is in a composting phase.  We look forward to seeing what grows in this rich and fertile ground.

Our Vision

We envision a world where everyone is empowered by access to burial options, including conservation burial for themselves and their loved ones.

Our Mission

Conservation burial restores the earth and slows climate change.

Trillium Natural Burial exists to preserve and restore land in perpetuity through natural burial, including placement of Natural Organic Reduction (also known as “human compost or NOR.)

We provide natural burial options that connect grieving people with nature at a profound and tender time.

Our Values

We honor the cycles of life, death and renewal, through responsible stewardship of the earth.

We offer a sanctuary where natural burial restores the earth, and in turn the land renews the spirit of those who visit.

Diversity Commitment

Diversity, equity and inclusion are pillars of our work.  We are committed to these values and consider them vital. We invite a wide variety of perspectives and strive to serve each unique individual.

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that Trillium Natural Burial is on the Land of the Squaxin, Nisqually and Chehalis Tribes. We honor the indigenous caretakers of these lands and waters, the elders who lived here before, the indigenous peoples today, and the generations to come. We commit ourselves to environmental justice working in support of the earth’s healing.
